Hi, I’m Mary Rivas—the founder of Finance Wave Transformation Ltd.
I established Finance Wave Transformation Ltd. to bridge the gap between IT and Finance, leveraging my expertise in harmonizing these critical areas to help businesses achieve financial clarity and operational efficiency. My journey is built on a solid academic foundation and enriched by extensive hands-on experience in finance, IT, and leadership.
My Academic Journey
I earned my Degree in Economics from the University of Cantabria, Spain, and furthered my studies at the University of Konstanz and the University of Regensburg in Germany. To deepen my expertise, I pursued a Master’s in accounting and Auditing (CPA) and completed certifications in German GAAP and IFRS standards.
Professional Experience
In 2013, I relocated from Spain to Germany to develop an international career, where I gained extensive experience working with private equity-backed companies. During this time, I was promoted to Finance Director, taking on key responsibilities such as:
- Leading NetSuite integrations and SAP implementations.
- Upgrading ERP systems from Dynamics AX 2012 to Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, ensuring seamless transitions and improved system performance.
- Managing complex M&A transactions, including carve-outs and exits.
- Overseeing financial operations across multiple countries, including Germany, the US, Canada, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Denmark, Singapore, and France.
- Handling VAT registrations in countries such as Poland, Sweden, Norway, Indonesia, Romania, Belgium, and France.
- Collaborating with Shared Services Centres in India and Poland.
In 2018, I moved to London, UK, where I continued supporting private equity-backed companies, focusing on M&A transactions while expanding my work with NetSuite implementations and other ERP solutions.
Why I Founded
Finance Wave Transformation
Since 2013, I have worked as a Finance Director and Financial Controller, primarily for private equity-backed businesses across Germany, the UK, and beyond. This experience has given me deep insights into the challenges companies face when aligning IT systems with financial operations.
Recognizing these challenges, I established Finance Wave Transformation Ltd. to share my expertise and help businesses harmonize their finance and IT tools. My mission is to empower organizations to produce accurate records, generate reliable financial reports, and optimize their processes for sustainable growth.
